Description

An elegant stay at Hotel Brunelleschi in the historic heart of Florence, a few steps from the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio, surrounded by the main shopping streets.

Renowned as the world’s cultural capital, Florence is bursting at the seams with Renaissance architecture, historical artworks and famous sights, but there’s more to this place than the Statue of David, the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio (though these are impressive, too!).  Look a little closer and you’ll find that the streets are alive with a youthful energy; take a while to browse the high-end shops, soak up the Italian atmosphere and people-watch the eclectic locals as you sip a Campari.

Hotel Brunelleschi, luxury 4 star boutique hotel

An incredible location for Hotel Brunelleschi: the ancient Tower of Pagliazza, one of the oldest buildings still existing in Florence and the former Chiesa di San Michele, called “in Palchetto”, where today are located the entrance and reception of the hotel.

The hotel was created within a circular Byzantine tower (6th century) and a medieval church, entirely reconstructed, but keeping the original characteristics of the buildings. Inside you can find a private museum in which is conserved the architectural ruins discovered during the restoration of the hotel.

The spaces have been kept unchanged and enriched by various works of art by local antiques of great value and beauty. The Hotel Brunelleschi, listed in the register of Florentine historical edifices, is mentioned in the final of the Dan Brown’s Da Vinci Code and, twice, in the thriller novel Inferno, both have as protagonist the famous Professor Robert Langdon, an international expert of religious symbolism.
